Evenings

Wednesday evening Oasis classes/activities begin at 6:30 PM. For additional information on any Wednesday evening classes/activities that are offered, please contact the Discipleship Ministry office at 423.899.9186, ext. 108.

  • Adult Choir - The choir rehearses until 8:00 PM in the Worship Center. All who are interested are welcome to join and praise God with us. No audition is required.
  • Divorce Care - There aren’t many people around you who understand the pain your divorce or separation has caused. Divorce Care is a series of support groups and seminars conducted by people who understand what you are experiencing. Learn how to deal with the pain of your past and look forward to rebuilding your life. Book cost: $15. Meets in room 190.
  • It’s Greek to Me - The purpose of the spring semester course is to equip the student with a thorough understanding of the Greek verbs. This skill will allow the student to read Koine (i.e., “common”) Greek for fun and will also permit one to navigate the more difficult study tools. Anyone can join, even if you didn’t participate in the fall class. Cost:  $33.00. Meets in room 153.
  • Mid-week Prayer and Preaching - This option is a traditional mid-week prayer service (song service, prayer, and a brief message). This service meets in room 155 and is usually finished by 7:30 PM.
  • One In A Million - Priscilla Shirer’s newest study looks at the Israelites’ forty years of wilderness wanderings. This study encourages participants to fully engage in the abundant life God has waiting for those who will allow Him to take the lead in daily living. Class meets in room 167.
  • Orchestra - Consisting of musicians desiring to worship God with their instruments, the orchestra rehearses from until 8:00 PM with the Adult Choir in the Worship Center. Members of the Orchestra must be at least High School age.
  • Survey of Biblical Doctrines - What we believe shapes our behavior. That is why it is so important that we believe rightly. Join us for an in-depth look at major Bible doctrines. This study will answer some of the most compelling questions about basic theology and the importance of knowing the Bible for daily living. Meets in room 191.
  • Time of Prayer - Join others as we pray collectively and individually for direction for WPBC leadership, staff, needs within the body of Christ as Woodland Park and for our nation.  A brief devotion about biblical prayer will follow our prayer time. Meets in room 174.

Children’s Ministry Offerings

  • Kidz On A Mission - Grades 1-5 begin and end in room 157 for music, drama, and dance with a mission emphasis. Led by Beth Russell.
  • Kidz On a Mission (Jr. & Mini) – Age 3 and younger 4’s (Mini in room 179) and ages older 4’s through Kindergarten (Jr. in room 178) meet in the preschool hallway where they will have choir and learn about missionaries from all over the world. Led by Lynda Strickland.
  • Sixth Grade Ministry (Grade 6) - Join us for pizza, dessert, drinks, games and Vital Skills. We will study “How to Relate to Authority”. Cost: $3 (for those who want pizza – payable at the door). Meets in room 127.

Student Ministry Offerings

  • LIFE Focus Study (Grades 9-12) - Discussion-based small group highlighting the relevance of God’s Word in today’s current events. Meets in room 193. Led by Chris Gaither.
  • LIFEgroups - These discipleship/accountability groups are formed through an application and interview process during the summer.
  • WildLIFE (Grades 7-8) - Students gather for a game, teaching, and small groups. Meets in room 140. Led by Jake Mueller.
