Pastoral Search Team – Prayer Guide

Constant, consistent, specific prayer is vital to the search process. We encourage you to pray along with us, using the same prayer guide that we follow as a search team:

Pray for:

• the search team
• our body – loving unity
• our pastors and families
• our staff and families
• our elders and families
• our deacons and families
• our next Senior Pastor, his family, his church
• prayer of cleansing-repentance
• prayer of thanksgiving and provision
• prayer of anticipation of what God is going to do – expectant faith!

Specific requests for the three sub-teams:

Process Development Team:

• Wisdom to ask the right questions of candidates
• Guidance in compiling the information about WPBC that will be transmitted to candidates
• The Holy Spirit’s leading once a candidate is under consideration

Research Team

• Time and energy to examine each candidate
• Biblical discernment as we evaluate candidates
• Spiritual and physical strength to guard against discouragement and fatigue

Prayer/Communication Team

• Ease of communication among sub-teams, elders, and staff as we gather updates and prayer requests to share with the body on a monthly basis
• Direction in organizing and scheduling prayer events
