SALT Institute

The
SALT Institute, which derives its title from the acronym for “Servant-Approach
Leadership Training,” is a two-year, academic program for men and
women who have been called to vocational Christian work or burdened
for a significant role in church leadership. The program allows
these individuals to be taken under the wing of the church staff
and equipped in a challenging environment with like-minded peers.
In this environment, students explore the type of leadership that
Jesus exemplified-one that sharply contrasts leadership in the
world by requiring the approach of a servant. This type of leadership
is then nurtured as students study how to handle the Scriptures
accurately, ministry philosophy, practical church structure, and
the New Testament model of discipleship.
The classes are designed with the working layperson in mind and
offer in-depth training in a flexible-yet accountable-format. Those
interested must apply, as each class is limited to 12 students.
Classes typically meet on Wednesday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 pm.
First Year SALT
Classes meet during the months of September to May.
The classes include lecture, class discussion, small group work,
