Student

logo_students The Student Ministry of Woodland Park exists to lead teenagers into a passionate relationship with Jesus Christ and to equip them to make disciples. The ministry strives to properly present the teachings of Jesus Christ in a way that is meaningful and relevant to students through approaches such as teaching, music, small groups, service projects, camps, mission trips, and various other events.

In today’s culture, it is not an easy task to rear godly teenagers. The Student Ministry desires to come alongside parents and assist them in their God-given mandate of raising godly teens who will impact the next generation for Christ.

Ways to get involved in the Student Ministry include:

Connection Classes (Sunday Mornings)

Each Sunday morning the Jr. High students (grades 7-8) and Sr. High students (grades 9-12) meet in room 140 at 9 AM for a student-led time of praise and a large group teaching time. All students are then dismissed to Jr. High and Sr. High small groups for discussion where connecting with each other is possible and application from the teaching time is made by an adult small group leader.

Equipping Classes (Sunday Nights)

  • One Mind – for grades 7-8. This class is designed to help students grow in their relationship with Christ and each other through Bible study and a hands-0n approach to Christianity.
  • LIFEfocus Study – for grades 9-12. This group is currently studying through Costly Grace. This group is open to any Sr. High students who haven’t committed to another class or discipleship group on Sunday evenings.
  • LIFEgroups are small groups made up of high school students who have committed for the school year to a focused time of study, prayer, fellowship, and accountability. Applications are available during June and July with interviews in August. Groups are led by upperclassmen and an additional adult leader from the student ministry leadership team. Groups will meet in comfortable places around the church. Every fourth week each group gets their hands dirty in ministry, serving in places around the community.

Wednesday Nights

  • WildLIFE – specifically geared for students in grades 6-8, it has it all, team competitions, games, large group teaching time, co-ed small group time, team projects, great adult leaders, and “family time”.
  • Catalyst – offers a discussion based time for students in grades 9-12 centered around the Word and real life issues where a student can come and learn how the Bible is relevant to our everyday needs.
